Job Description SummaryPeripheral Intervention (PI), is a business unit within the Becton Dickinson Interventional business segment, for FY21 sales revenue expected at $1.7B dollars globally, with an expectation of above market growth, over the next several years. The Sr. International Manager´s base is in Tempe, Arizona and reports directly to the VP/GM of the Oncology Platform at Peripheral Intervention. This position will serve as a key business partner for strategic international countries and regions within BD and can be located in different regions, as long as it matches the geographic responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities will include working with regional and country leaders to understand physician and patients’ needs in the oncology disease category. This role will ensure execution of product strategy in global markets. The role requires an in-depth understanding of the medical device industry in both the US and globally. Includes knowledge of regulatory and clinical requirements, reimbursement, healthcare economics, along with medical healthcare capabilities for each key country.

Job Description

Category innovation is critical to rapidly growing the platforms while meeting the demands of the healthcare industry. Will serve as one of the drivers to ensure the Peripheral Intervention business is passionate about the right technology and product offerings. Will work with regional leaders to understand business conditions, opportunities, and partner with leaders to develop plans to execute against commercial opportunities.

  • Understand, optimize, and communicate the Oncology platform strategy.

  • Ensure healthcare economics and reimbursement for the regions is understood and linked with our strategy.

  • Focus on customer expectations and outcomes, partnering on corporate initiatives to improve customer experience and improve expectations.

  • Partner with marketing communications team to develop brand strategies

  • Establish and manage relationships with global and regional KOLs

  • Understand outstanding market dynamics

  • Act as a liaison between regions and the business unit

  • Lead the Oncology product portfolio for a given region

  • Train international sales and marketing representatives on strategic and clinical positioning

  • Serve as the voice of marketing in cross functional teams, including operations, regulatory, quality R&D and clinical affairs

  • Build regional SWOT analysis for both products as well as internal capabilities

  • Collaborate with product managers to understand clinical needs to enable upstream market development.

  • Drive best practices in product launches

  • Assist with M&A activities as needed

  • Build business models for product launches and organic business development

  • Understanding of the healthcare system reimbursements and regulatory environment

Education and Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Individuals with a degree in finance, business administration, marketing, engineering or life sciences are strongly encouraged to apply. An advanced degree or MBA is a plus.

  • 5 to 7 years of experience supporting global marketing, sales, regulatory or clinical affairs within the healthcare industry, in a mid to large company.

  • Experience and expertise in product categories within the medical device industry, that includes ability to train others on product usage and benefits to patients.

  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy terminology and product knowledge in the oncology, vascular and peripheral space.

  • Proven understanding of clinical, medical, scientific, and technical terms in healthcare industry and medical devices, and relation to each disease state.

  • Outstanding negotiating and presentation skills.

  • Detailed understanding of global laws and regulations related to the approvals, sales and marketing regulations.
