The Material Control Specialist will focus on the manufacturing inventory, purchase orders and work order management of the Tempe site. Analyzing divisional freight spend and tracking the monthly charges will be a critical area of responsibility. The specialist is also responsible for the site’s customs compliance program.

  • Inventory Management:

  • Maintain Inventory Accuracy in production areas and conduct Cycle Counts in support of this.

  • Keep the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies room organized and properly stocked.

  • Manufacturing Work Order Management:

  • Prepare Manufacturing Work Order packets and release them to the shop floor.

  • Assist the team in investigating and correcting material variances.

  • Purchasing:

  • Create Purchase Orders for General Operating Supplies as required.

  • Spend analysis for division freight.

  • Serve as the Site’s customs designee.

  • Represent the Tempe site as the primary contact with internal stakeholders and customs broker.

  • Assist internal customers with their import/export documentation to ensure compliance with all requirements.

  • Establish a standard record keeping process.

  • Prepare documentation and reports for government agencies.

  • Keep informed as to current Laws and Regulations that govern the importation or exportation of medical device, components and tooling.

  • Solid computer skills: Microsoft Excel experience required, ERP system experience preferred.

  • General experience with inventory management.

  • Experience working in a government regulated industry desired.

  • Customs compliance experience preferred.

  • Two year college degree or equivalent work experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
