Set-up, maintain and operate Regrind, Mill, Conveyors, Extruders and Auto Pellet packaging equipment in the Rubber Department.

Regrind: Determine which material to process and set-up the equipment, start the equipment up and monitor. Rotate to the Mill after 2 hours.

Mill : Allow batch of rubber to drop completely through mill rollers. Reload batch on mill, cross cut and blend as needed. Position mill knives and strip off batch to accumulating conveyor. Rotate to Extrusion/Auto Packaging after two hours.

Extruders and Pellet Packaging : Set-up the extruders and Auto Packaging Equipment to process the intended type of rubber to produce pellets for the molding process. Rotate to Regrind after two hours.



  • Set-up, maintain and operate regrind equipment and all auxiliary processes (washer, granulator, conveyors).

  • Monitor incoming waste material to be processed for correct identification and separation by compound type.

  • Perform particle size analysis of regrind materials per provided test methods.

  • Assign and maintain lot history documentation of all regrind material.

  • Monitor and maintain first in, first out staging and storage of all incoming waste and outgoing regrind materials.

  • Monitor and document liquid nitrogen supply and usage.

  • Perform line clearances and required GMP cleaning.

  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Complete Preventative Maintenance as required.

  • Use fork truck to move material as required.


  • Inspect mill to make sure all services are operating, i.e. safety stops, lubricator and cooling water. Report any malfunction to Supervisor or Technicianimmediately.

  • Operate mill to allow batch of rubber to drop completely through mill rollers. Reload batch on mill, cross blend as needed to obtain uniform dispersion of stock. Position mill knives and strip off batch to cooling system.

  • Cut and deliver QC samples as required.

  • Maintain batch and/or lot history documentation; label all samples with correct identification.


  • Set-up Extruder to produce pellets as set-up in standards, and specifications.

  • Check the slurry contents as per standards.

  • Monitor extruding and pelletizing operation to standard set-up. Report any problems to Supervisor/Lead.

Auto Pellet Packaging

  • Set up equipment for proper labeling, weighing and tracking of pellets

  • Load equipment with proper totes, lids and pallets.

  • Remove filled pallets to proper storage location with fork truck.

  • Rework rejected material as required.

  • Inspect one tote per pallet to ensure label insert is correct.

  • Label pallet with proper identification

  • Remove filled pallets to proper storage location with fork truck.


  • Maintain clean and organized work area, disposing of waste in proper containers.

  • Clean equipment at end of shift.

  • Maintain production and quality.

  • Observe all safety standards and environmental procedures and QSR’s.

  • Perform general Preventative Maintenance tasks.


Perform miscellaneous duties as required by Supervisor/Lead.
