Job Description SummaryThis position leads the Integrated Diagnostic Solutions business Cost to Win, or reliable low cost capability, initiative by developing plans and programs, identifying teams, and leading execution to achieve the envisioned future state with the capabilities and cost structure needed. Successful execution of program responsibilities will include operations planning, budgeting, forecasting, and tracking.

The IDS Cost to Win initiative is responsible for driving the businesses annual savings target. The incumbent will work with business and operations leaders to develop, prioritize, and execute an integrated plan to achieve a long-term low cost structure and capability for Integrated Diagnostics Solutions.

The role is responsible for transition plans that move the business from current- to longer term future-state (planning and overseeing execution of key projects to improve product design, materials, packaging, process, and/or plant architecture for lower landed cost). The incumbent directs teams of Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations resources to assure projects are completed on time and meet BD requirements. This role coordinates parallel activities across these groups to manage through resource constraints. This position provides financial guidance to operations leaders, and is responsible for successful planning, budgeting, and forecasting. This position works across operations and other functions to assure business goals are successfully budgeted (and implemented). Additionally, the incumbent provides oversight of financial analysis to support recommendations to senior management.

Key responsibilities include identification & prioritization of the market target audience for understanding customer value related to cost reduction opportunities. This involves mapping product design & material optimization ideas with key customer applications.

The incumbent must coordinate activities within teams that include cross-functional regional and WW associates (Core Teams that include Marketing, R&D, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Procurement, Regional and/or Operations associates).

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Strategic Impact/Accountability – This position works with Integrated Diagnostics Solutions products. Is accountable for overall program coordination and leadership.

  • Plays a key role in recommending changes to and implementing long-term program coordination and leadership.

Operations strategy

Sphere of Influence (liaison) — Works with many functional areas including R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Marketing. Works across Businesses and regions for Integrated Diagnostic Solutions.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or business related field required. Graduate degree preferred.

  • Leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Very strong organizational skills.

  • The ability to effectively interact with all levels internal to our organization as well as external stakeholders, as well as to manage very large projects.

Technical

  • Area of Expertise — Minimum of 5 years demonstrated program management. Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance knowledge a plus.

  • Responsible for interfacing with Continuous Improvement planning and other medium- to long-term planning effort at plants and sites.

Impact of Results

  • Degree of Accountability (discretion/supervision) — Works independently. Reports to the VP, WW Operations with dotted line responsibility to IDS Business Group Leaders. Accountable for overall program coordination and management.

  • Financial Impact — Significant positive financial impact.

  • Decision Making — Significant discretion with respect to identification of program opportunities (design and implementation). Critical decisions generally subject to WW Vice President’s approval with buy-in from key functional areas.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):

EDUCATION:

Bachelors, Advanced Degree Preferred

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

Lean Certification and Six Sigma certification preferred

EXPERIENCE:

10+ years
