Job Description SummaryQuality Control Inspector
•Measure key quality characteristics on various molded plastic components and mold steel components. Enter data into computer for analysis and prepare graphs and charts for data analysis. Assist engineering in product design verifications, process qualifications and validations.
Perform measurements with calipers, digital micrometers, gage pins, drop depth gages, optical comparator and other basic measurement tools.
Perform measurements with contact and vision CMM’s using
pre-established routines and fixtures.
Program contact and vision CMM’s
Read, interpret and apply the basics of engineering drawings such as dimensions, diameters, datum structure and definitions of such datum’s.
Perform simple data analysis.
Ensure measurement data is accurate and traceable.
Perform Gage R&R studies.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED required
3 years experience in mechanical inspection
Basic math skills.
Ability to work with minimal direction.
Experience using mechanical inspection and measuring equipment.
Ability to understand simple mechanical concepts.
Surface plate and lay-out experience preferred.
Qualified and experienced to operate and program CMM preferred.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to perform multi-tasks during daily duties.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge with Excel and MS Word preferred.
Good organization skills.
Ability to interpret part drawings.
