The Strategic Customer Group (SCG), Federal Government is responsible for account and customer management in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Defense Health Agency (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Services (IHS), Federal Bureau of Prisons, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role is primarily focused on the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and is accountable for solution selling, driving contract growth, and collaborating with BD Business Unit sales organizations to drive value and revenue growth. While the focus is primarily on the VA, the role will help support our efforts in other areas of the Federal Healthcare Delivery System (FHDS) when necessary. This position has responsibility for supporting products and services from all of the BD Business Units and will be accountable for a portfolio of integrated solutions addressing the needs and issues unique to federal healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for short and long-term revenue growth, profitability, and retention of BD's federal customers.

  • Responsible for driving business, implementation and execution of sales growth initiatives, sales growth programs, using a matrix management approach and aligning all BD sales forces within the marketplace.

  • Develop effective strategy's in order to differentiate BD's product portfolio and meet the needs of our customers.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the economic, business and clinical pressures of the marketplace and, based on this knowledge, provide input to the the BU's on how to be successful in federal healthcare.

  • Conduct and maintain relationships with key accounts, industry and trade associations, customers and partners as necessary in the overall management of their area of responsibility.

  • Provides leadership in achieving a differentiated value advantage for BD in assigned accounts

** This is a remote role**

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with 3+ years in large account management

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

  • Experience selling to the federal government is required.

  • Dedicated federal government enterprise responsibility is highly preferred.

  • Matrix Management experience required

  • Proven experience selling at the Enterprise level

  • Strong understanding of industry and demonstrated experience in the areas of financial analysis, matrix management, legal and ethical practices, marketing and sales.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and lead in a complex matrix environment

  • Demonstrated success at influence management

  • Effective critical thinking and problem solving capabilities

  • Consultative and results oriented approach

  • Excellent planning, organizing and leadership skills

  • Proven ability to develop and lead high performance teams

  • Excellent verbal, written and executive presentation skills

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Strong contract negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate change

  • Ability to travel up to 65% of the time
