Job Description Summary
The Becton Dickinson Technology Solutions division is looking for a Senior Manager of Data Science Operations and Quality Assurance to lead a team of data scientists including data analysts/scientists, data engineers, and business analysts. This team is responsible for data wrangling, data enrichment, quality assurance, compliance, pre-processing, and customer onboarding. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement, team efficiency, and quality excellence.
This is a high-impact role that requires excellence in both operational and technical skills. On the operations side, you will be partnering with other leaders to establish, maintain, and support the development of advanced analytics assets including machine learning/predictive models, enriched data for analytic purposes, stakeholder engagement, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will be highly process oriented, have a demonstrable record of driving quality improvement, and robust understanding of the data science development life cycle. On the technical side, you must have experience and advanced knowledge of topics such as data engineering, database management with a preference for cloud-based solutions, competency in statistical and machine learning modeling, and experience with deploying technical products in a production environment. You will be the primary point of contact with other technical leaders including, but not limited to, software development, program management, and privacy/security. Finally, you will be expected to provide technical guidance to the team and help develop their skills. You will lead by example, adopting a "whatever it takes" approach to get the job done, while nurturing a sense of camaraderie, success, and appreciation among your team.

Lead and grow a team of high-performing data analyst/scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to optimize pre/post-deployment analytics systems drive quality excellence and team efficiency
Establish documented team SOPs and best practices that are aligned to organizational policy. Ensure compliance and consistency in data science team adherence to SOPs.
Relentlessly drive continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and quality assurance as a data science customer service leader
Drive an independent agenda, establish a team vision, and partner with technical leaders to enable excellence in data science execution
Identify opportunities to increase team efficiency in analytics delivery
Coach and develop team members
Explore opportunities from internal and external data sources to identify unrealized value through data enrichment
Identify and implement rigorous analytics and data governance process with specific attention to HIPAA and regulatory compliance.
Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and capabilities to enable excellence in data science delivery
Present to senior management on business reviews, roadmap progress and innovation concepts
Drive an engaging, innovative, and inclusive culture within your team
Required skills and experience
Track record of driving process and quality excellence in the delivery of analytic or technical products to diverse customers in a dynamic environment
Advanced knowledge of technical process improvement, data quality standards and management, data enrichment and standardization
Competency in data science concepts including statistics, machine learning, and predictive modeling
Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience.
Experience with agile, lean practices and methodologies
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups. Must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Experience with data related programming languages such as (Java/Scala, Python, R, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP).
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or related field
Minimum 5 years of management and/or leadership experience.
8+ years of industry experience in data science or related field.
Experience with medical software such as Hospital Information Systems, Medical Record Systems or Lab Information Systems
Knowledge of Hadoop, Cloud and other modern data architectures
