BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Associate Director, Software Engineering in San Diego, California
Job Description SummaryWe are recruiting for a highly driven R&D software development leader with proven product development and technical leadership to drive new initiatives strategic to the businesses. The Assoc. Director is responsible for managing the planning, designing, development, quality, delivery, and support of the software ecosystem. They work cross functionally with the business to understand the customer needs and deliver products to market with high quality in a reasonable timeframe. The director is responsible for overseeing all development practice and processes and providing leadership to the engineering resources.
Provide leadership and guidance to the teams across organization responsible for architecting, implementing developing, testing, managing projects, and performing continuous improvement to practice.
Develop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team members.
Provide leadership to the management team. Develop strategies for hiring, training, development, and succession planning.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of best practices surrounding software development, inclusive of development technologies and best practices.
Provides leadership and strategic direction on software development practice to improve customer satisfaction, speed of development, cost of development, implementation, quality, and ease of maintenance.
Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
6+ years of experience in software development teams on technically complex product development teams.
3+ years in a leadership role required.
Healthcare Industry experience is required.
Development and management of software development metrics, with plans implemented to improve results and processes.
Experience working with geographically distributed teams in an Agile environment
Experience with large cloud / hosted data commercially sold systems.
Ability to set direction, align goals, lead, and influence others in a matrix organization
Ability to build strong partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders at different levels
Strong probing and listening skills to facilitate collaboration with key stakeholders and employees
