The objective of this role is to provide program leadership across the Medical segment, ensuring the portfolio of projects committed to are appropriately initiated, executed and completed per their associated targets. This is a critical role that will partner across the Medical Segment Business Partners, as well as the Business Partners from the Regions / Functions and Technology Delivery Teams to ensure all prioritized programs and projects are appropriately structured, staffed and executed in a controlled and consistent manner. This is an individual contributor leadership role, that will have mnagement responsibility for 5-10 contract PMs and a Segment technology portfolio spend between $5-20M. The sphere of influence of this role will primarily be within the Medical Segment LT, but will be global and cros-functional depending on the programs / projects being conducted. More over, it will have direct impact and influence on the attainment of the Medical BP team commitments and objectives. The incumbent will specifically have responsibility for:

  • Deep knowledge of the Technology & Global Services (TGS) Operating Model and Processes as it pertains to the initiation, execution, management and turn-over for support of projects.

  • Understanding and management of Medical Segment strategy and KDGs, ensuring alignment to specific TGS Programs and Projects to be delivered.

  • Drive consistent practices in the structuring of programs and projects (ex. Staffing, Steering Committee, Financial Analyses, Reporting) to ensure a high degree of consistent execution per commitments on scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Partner with the Medical Business Partners, business leaders and SMEs to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into roadmaps and priorities

  • Drive cross-Business Partner team program / project analyses, defining and managing dependencies, collision points and scope/resource intersections, ensuring transparency into risks or opportunities within the Medical Portfolio of programs / projects

  • Establish and drive holistic resource planning processes and practices, ensuring consistent transparency and alignment between Business, TGS and Vendor needs to successfully execute and deliver on programs / projects

  • Educate, coach and improve the basic project management practices and capabilities across the Medical Segment team.

  • Manage the planning, recruitment, and overall management of contract PMs brought into support the Medical Portfolio of projects

  • Define and drive financial cost vs benefit analyses across our portfolio, ensuring attainment of targets

  • Provide direct program management leadership over major Medical Segment programs with significant impact and value, prioritized by the business and TGS Medical Team.

  • Complete the projects/improvements/deliverables needed to implement technology, processes or services to meet business requirements including the documentation, testing and implementation

  • Develop consistent program / project reporting capabilities and practices that ensure consistent and effective communication, change management impact analysis, readiness and effectiveness, cutover and go-live support. This includes managing escalation and mitigating risk

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic understanding, both business and technology experience, exceptional relationship building skills and solution-oriented mindset together.

In addition, this person should also possess:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology program management, with specific focus on the definition, execution and delivery of global business solutions/applications and platforms.

  • Proficiency in system development life cycle documentation, testing and release cycle protocols including business requirements documentation, test scenarios/data/execution, cutover, hypercare, project planning and status reporting

  • Expertise in project management governance: Steering Committee management, project accounting, charter, business case development, project management plan and schedule, stakeholder management, communication planning, risk/issue management, status reporting and running team calls

  • Experience in managing / executing and establishing Agile PM processes and practices

  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations

  • Proven ability to influence and drive cross-functional partnerships, and the management of executive level steering committees and stakeholders.

  • Must be a leader with Managerial Courage, versed in delivering both positive and negative news, influencing stakeholders in written and oral communications

  • Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner

  • Highly collaborative work style with strong sense of personal accountability, and comfortable with navigating complex, matrixed organizations.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and in overcoming ambiguity

  • Leading by example, mentoring, and motivating others all around you

  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong humility, listening, creativity, and negotiation skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is strongly preferred. Master’s degree highly desirable. Educational certificate or training in a process methodology is a plus.
