BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Internship - Quality Engineering in Salt Lake City, Utah

Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient’s vasculature. Our devices assist in the delivery of chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and nutrition.

Internships can be found in all departments working on a variety of projects ranging from product testing to post market launch. Interns work under close supervision by the sponsoring function. It is a mutually beneficial relationship as Bard creates a learning environment where the intern obtains industry hands-on experience.

Our Internships are generally one year in length/1,000 hours of work time. You must be able to work 15-20 hrs a week during the school year. This would be M-F during normal business hours.

  • Duties will be assigned by the sponsoring function and will relate to the project in which they are assigned.

  • Working towards a Bachelor degree in science or engineering.

The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

  • Basic Technical writing skills.

  • Basic interpersonal skills – active listening.

  • Basic Software application skills.

  • Basic problem solving skills.

  • Ability to collect and analyze data and derive conclusions.

  • Ability to make recommendations to reach a solution.

  • Basic oral and written presentation skills.

  • Ability to follow design controls.

This position is in an office and laboratory environment and requires the incumbent to sit, stand and perform general office functions. The incumbent may also be required to lift up to twenty five pounds occasionally. The incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
