This is an inside sales role that aims to support the existing sales team within the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) portfolio for Québec and Atlantic Canada. The position is either based out of the head office in Mississauga or it can be home-based out of Montreal.

This individual will support and execute against the Regional Directors business plan by working closely with the field team including Territory Managers, Product Managers and Clinical Specialists. This is a hybrid customer service and junior sales role. If successful, this role can potentially lead to formal territory responsibility as a Territory Manager. Associate Territory Managers should be open to relocation anywhere in Canada to assume responsibility for an open Territory Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus of this role is customer service and contributing to development and execution of strategies to close sales opportunities of key products offerings and services with the broader commercial Quebec/Atlantic sales team. The Associate Territory Manager is primarily accountable for ensuring positive customer relationships with customers in collaboration and direction from the territory managers.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of BD Medication Delivery Solution products, competitive devices, and application of products.

  • Relationships with Regional Director, Territory Managers, Product Managers, Distribution partners

  • Building strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to develop loyalty and demonstrate sales effectiveness.

  • Ensure a high degree of awareness for BD’s portfolio to all hospitals, within assigned territory.

  • Ensuring that customer concerns are addressed and resolved in a positive and friendly manner.

  • Liaising with all departments routinely to ensure ongoing efficiency and prompt attention to customers.

  • Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the Regional Director.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bilingual French and English required.

  • Bachelor's degree required - preference for business or related to medical technology.

  • Ability to effectively communicate over the phone and electronically with customers to resolve issues and answer questions according to BD protocols and requirements.

  • Able to effectively share information related to work product in verbal and written form.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, communication, organizational and planning skills.

  • Self-motivated, takes on additional responsibilities, and manages priorities with minimal supervision.

  • Good judgement and maturity.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.

  • Travel required up to 10%-25%, including overnight travel.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic anatomy - Ability to discuss the various products in relation to the human body.

  • Familiarity with medical and surgical terminology.

  • Experience working in a team environment, particularly with salespeople.

  • Customer service inside sales experience.

  • Understands of the needs/analysis approach to sales.

  • Understands the product buyer concept.

  • Understands contract administration.

  • Understands principles of group purchasing to include research, formulating and recommend proposal.
