Job Description SummaryReporting to a Senior Accountant, this position is responsible for supporting a mix of large and small business units. This includes preparing and posting various monthly journal entries and performing the necessary reporting for each of these businesses.

Job Description

This position will be responsible to interact and communicate with the respective business units in order to facilitate any special operating and/or reporting requirements. In addition, this position will be required to prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and intercompany accounts. Annually this position will assist in the preparation of the tax package schedules for various companies and the preparation of additional year-end reporting requirements. The Accountant will also participate in SOX testing and special projects. They will assist in the preparation of ad-hoc reports as necessary. A person in this position is responsible to assure that the assigned day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies and objectives. They will be expected to assess a customer's and/or an internal need for nonstandard reports and statements and to create these items as necessary. A person in this position should have the ability to interpret and point out unusual trends or deviations from standards and they should be able to predict the effects of changes being made to a particular area. They should be able to make day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions, recommend solutions to moderately difficult problems and identify management informational needs
