Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Monitor the quality of incoming raw materials, in-process and compounded materials, and in-process quality assurance to assure conformance to written specifications.
Essential job Functions:
Hire, train, schedule, and direct the work of the Lab and IPQA Technicians assigned to the Moncks Corner facility.
Evaluate the performance of each individual, make recommendations concerning personnel additions, reductions, and transfers.
Make continuous Quality evaluations and decisions concerning product quality.
Assure that all QA functions are performed effectively to meet production schedule requirements.
Maintain records and generate reports and memos relative to the quality of the product produced on or for the Moncks Corner facility.
Develop QA systems for the Moncks Corner facility to meet governmental and legal requirements.
Resolve quality problems and initiate corrective action with other departments as required.
Help prepare and adhere to the annual budget for the laboratory function.
May be required to perform the job function of the Complaint Coordinator.
Other duties as assigned.

4 year degree or equivalent experience.
Previous background in lab management.
Ability to understand the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished product.
Ability to make timely and accurate quality decisions.
Ability to manage and motivate people to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to work independently in managing the department with minimal guidance.
