An exciting opportunity to lead the Diabetes Care medical affairs activities in Italy for Becton Dickinson, a global leader in medical technology
Job mission and purpose:
The Advanced Diabetes Care Medical Affairs Manager’s mission is to build scientific credibility and lead scientific exchange for our products portfolio via development of peer to peer relationships with leading medical experts within Italy. Through these partnerships, this critical role will help partner with KOLs in generating evidence as well as gathering insights that will be central to helping us shape the future of our diabetes care offerings.
The Medical Affairs Manager will contribute in shaping the country business strategy by providing key insights from external stakeholders, including medical management trends and changes.
Build trusted, scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and internal/ external stakeholders
Assist in designing clinical studies/trials and observational studies in line with internal protocols to generate evidence
Collaborate with external and internal CRO’s in ensuring end to end study management and execution
Provide support to selected centers to ensure that studies/trials are executed within timeline agreed and in live with protocols
Monitor clinical trial progress through a combination of data review and on-site visits in collaboration with the internal or external CRO and per guidance and regulations
Ensure the monitoring quality assurance of all clinical records for participants including documentation and confidentiality
Facilitate and/or co-facilitate country level advisory boards to address behavioral and/or clinical concerns, progress, and crisis intervention of all participants
Be able to synthesize, communicate, and translate information into transparent, relevant evidence
Be able to understand business needs/opportunities through a proactive collaboration with the sales, marketing, HEOR and market access teams
Be able to present results at conferences, congresses and acts as interface with involved regional institutions
Serve as the primary medical/scientific BD point of contact for customers and relevant KOLs responding to or coordinating responses to specific individual or organization needs
Be able to elevate the scientific know-how of the Diabetes Care local team through a common understandable language.
Experience and Qualification:
Over five years of clinical trial study experience
Over three years of experience in the Diabetes field, preferably
Master’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in an appropriate related health profession (i.e. Medical, Pharmacy, etc.).
Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
Strong project management skills, able to prioritize and work accordingly
Proven excellent interpersonal and presentation skill
Fluent in English (oral and written).
