The Project Leader executes small scale projects of low complexity and/or leads small teams to execute projects.

Principales responsabilités:

  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Develops technical and business process solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

  • Responsible for the creation of the project work breakdown structures, integrated business plans and product requirements.

  • Designs and performs development of a complex nature, working with functional and multifunctional teams within defined parameters. Modifies methodologies and procedures as applicable to the project for quicker, valid results.

  • Ensures quality conduct of projects, including design, data summary and interpretation, report and manuscript preparation and review adherence to applicable regulations.

  • Represents the organization as the prime contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Guides the successful completion of projects.

Strategic Orientation :

Executes small scale projects of low complexity and/or leads small teams to execute projects. Examples would be improvements or revisions to existing products (cost improvements, rebranding / reposition etc).

Applies standard principles, theories & concepts in the field & has working knowledge of related disciplines.

Tests, analyzes & interprets data and development situations/events requiring evaluation of identifiable factors.

Prepares basic reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic financial metrics (e.g. IRR, NPV, ROI).

Fundamental understanding of project management standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

Sphere of Influence :

Responsible for the execution, quality and results of his or her project and the success of the resulting product for the business or in the market.

He / She manages and guides the day-to-day activities of the small team, tracks progress against plan, manages the project budget, identifies project risks and provides plans to mitigate those risks.

Under general supervision, plans, designs and performs development as assigned.

Follows established procedures.

Erroneous decisions or failure to execute according to project schedule may have a minor to moderate impact on the business (e.g. small quality and/or cost impact).

Position could also impact quality of product in the field if issues arise with the project.

Financial Impact:

Projects would typically have minimal budgets and low cost savings or quality impact

Formation initiale ou diplôme

Engineering or Master degree

Expérience professionnelle préalable

Has 4 to 7 years of experience and knowledge of product development and ability to lead product development initiatives.
