Job Description Summary

Role of senior Procurement Manager, working for a world wide Medical leader, Becton Dickinson (BD).

We are currently recruiting a Procurement Manager to join the Procurement Department at the World Wide headquarter of Pharmaceutical Systems Business Unit, based in Le Pont de Claix (Grenoble). Reporting to the Procurement Director of the BU, you will work on capital equipment category. This role covers an international scope, with exposure to the different sites of the BU and close relationships with key multi-functional stakeholders.

As senior Procurement Manager, you will have two areas of the responsibilities:

  1. You will manage a strategic portfolio of industrial capital equipment purchasing ($ 180 million annual investment). Given the sustainable growth of the business, the BU is leading a robust pipeline of equipement purchase, as defined in a techno roadmap for the next 3 – 5 years. You will execute sourcing strategies and be accountable for the overall category strategy world wide, on capital equipment.

  2. You will act as a role of interface between Global procurement and the need of the business units. You will coordinate different activities, such as BU saving projects in alignment with different functions (finance, operation, R&D, quality, Supply chain), support budget forecast, facilitate the interface between BU functions and World Wide procurement organization. Job Description

As Procurement Manager , your main responsibilities will be the following:

You will lead suppliers management activities and execute suppliers sourcing for assigned suppliers on capital equipment.

You will work closely with engineering team, finance, operation in order to define the requirements and needs.

You will contribute to the global category teams in the development, communication and approval of sourcing strategies, collecting and providing business requirements and regional supply market information, supply practices.

You will be responsible for customer relationships with stakeholders. You will handle a wide range of two-way communication, while demonstrating close collaboration and alignment with category group leaders and global sourcing managers.

You will be accountable to Procurement and Operations Leadership for strategy execution and supply base management activity; implementation of projects generated by sourcing strategies.

You will also be accountable for compliance to corporate procedures for designated suppliers, including quality, delivery and cost impacts.

In addition, you will :

  • Analyze sourcing needs and propose most adequate supplier portfolio

  • Prepare and negotiate purchase contracts with the group

  • Monitor suppliers, ensure compliance with costs, evaluate and update supplier risks

  • Support internal teams in their efforts to optimize quality and innovation

  • Organize and lead reviews with business stakeholders in order to share purchasing strategies

  • Act as a facilitator on all issues related to the purchasing perimeter

The procurement manager will work with global procurement and key Pharm Systems stakeholders on the different topics to integrate and align in the BU. You may also work to support the portfolio of C2W projects, working in partnership and aligning it with the different functions, plants and procurement and you will support the budget process.

It will require 10% travel (mainly in Europe).

Who are we looking for ?

  • Engineering degree ideally, MBA or equivalent degree in Procurement is a plus

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in buying of capital equipment machines

  • Engineering training and / or strong Technical experience

  • Fluent English level

  • Experience in purchasing/ Solid purchasing fundamentals

  • Autonomous

  • Team player

  • Leadership

  • Good Written and verbal communication skills

  • Intellectual Agility

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
