Job Description Summary
The primary mission of the Manager Technical Services is to support the strategy and vision for services for BDM Pharmaceutical Systems (BDM PS).
Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
Drive development and execution of services on behalf of Technical Services (TS) team and support broader BDM PS Integrated Service Strategy
Support development and deployment of value messaging and promotional material to drive adoption of services in collaboration with the Marketing team
Drive/participate in the negotiation of service packages with customers and partners
Support expansion and further development of service offer for BDM PS
Support Sales and Marketing by building relationships with key technical stakeholders and decision makers to enhance partnerships (customers, KOLs, CROs/CMOs) and to maximize service opportunities
Broadly influence and serve as an interface in external forums such as major conferences or industry committees, as needed
Gather market and competitive intelligence through customer interactions and other sources, and by attending trade shows and conferences
Responsibilities
Supports BDM PS Integrated Service Strategy
Oversees/supports definition, development, and deployment of defined (TS) services as part of broader Service Strategy
Supports phase-based deployment of the Services
Synthesizes broad customer insights to accelerate adoption of BDM PS products and services, and to improve customer loyalty and experience
Defines strategies to expand the base of high-value services to further support product adoption and sales
Deploys approved offerings to the targeted customer base
Drives adoption of BD PS strategic services
Supports development of value messaging and promotional materials to drive market awareness and adoption of BDM PS services
Promotes BD services through conferences, trade shows and other forums
Supports definition and development of a model for customer engagement that would position BD well as a service provider, e.g. at the front-end of customer innovation
Builds a network and influences the key stakeholders and decision makers within customer organization
Is the Voice Of Customer (VOC) internally and brings Voice of Business to the customer
Supports development of processes for services contracting, quotation and tracking
Serves as a services expert:
Serves as a primary interface with industry experts, academia and/or government agencies, as required
May oversee preparation of key scientific publications and white papers
Through deep understanding of competition, market and technology trends, and customer unmet needs, drives critical business decisions to enable new opportunity development and differentiation from competition
As needed, educates and advises key customers or internal associates on Pharmaceutical Systems product/service solutions for needs
Experience and Education
B.S., M.S. or PhD. in chemistry, engineering, or other relevant discipline with min. 6-8 years of industrial experience in a contract research manufacturing (preferred), large pharma/biotech or medical device company
Experience selling services in the Pharma environment preferred
Strong technical understanding of drug delivery industry
Proven track record of effectively delivering business growth
Strong network of pharmaceutical executives, purchasing, and packaging engineers preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of drug product development process and regulatory pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry required
Ability to lead complex technical and business discussions internally and externally influencing all stakeholders
