Job Description Summary

The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Manager is responsible to collaborate within the organization and across other plants to teach, implement and sustain the Production System principles.

The OpEx Manager shares ownership of meeting or exceeding business performance goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) by engaging the talents of all associates towards the mindset of zero loss.

The OpEx Manager is a primary point of contact to lead and mentor teams through an effective change process to achieve operational excellence.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet or exceed cost saving / continuous improving goals through leading and/or supporting Focused Improvement teams

  • Identify areas for cost savings and improvements

  • Lead a team of BDPS Practitioners and the CI (continuous improvement) organization

  • Develop a Master Plan for implementation of a Production System

  • Create and maintain a robust, consistent governance model to sustain results and standards utilizing a Tiered Management System (TMS)

  • Use effective change management techniques to drive and support culture and mindset shifts at a variety of levels in the organization.

  • Optimize value stream at site applying lean principles

  • Regularly engage with expanded network or practitioners across BD; share best practices and benchmarking.

  • Exceptional listening skills with an Able to effective give and receive feedback in order to perform shared tasks, meet common goals.

  • Implement complex program through rigorous thoughtful planning.

  • Effectively communicate a variety of topics (strategic, tactical) to various organizational levels.

  • Proven orientation to change by continuous improvement mindset and behaviors.

  • Leads by example and inspires a vision.

  • Financial acumen to understand how the BDPS process drives tangible business results.

  • Ability to work in Teams but also lead Teams

  • Demonstrates learning agility.

  • Able and willed to deal with ambiguity

  • Cooperative, self-dependent, structured and target-oriented approach

  • Multi-lingual preferred – fluent in written and spoken German and English

  • Willing and able to travel 20-50% (during implementation phase).
