BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) BU Materials Leader in Juarez, Mexico

The BU Materials leader is responsible for the management of the Purchasing and Planning Function for assigned business unit. The purpose of the position is to work with cross functional areas to ensure production plans are completed as efficiently as possible and materials are available to execute those plans. Lead a team of planners and buyers to develop systems to improve site efficiency utilizing all resources available to execute plans in line with targets and meeting customer requirements

  • Directs and coordinates all activities related to suppliers and production planning execution

  • Maintain a balanced supply chain of raw materials aligned to production demands

  • Continuously improvement of suppliers’ performance in quality, cost and service, initiating and leading strategies to meet plant’s vision and goals

  • Works with suppliers and managers to avoid past-due purchase orders

  • Oversees all aspects of production planning and control and the implementation of associated control systems and processes, liaising with the Supply Chain and Master Planning team for effective execution of plans

  • Establish procedures and controls within the Purchasing & Planning department

  • As required, hires, trains and develops personnel under responsibility

  • Responsible for Purchase Price variances and Appropriate inventory levels

  • Leads a continuous improving culture to increase department productivity.

  • Develops and achieves the Purchasing & Volume budget

  • Mandatory the follow up of general and security procedures applying to this position

  • Special projects/activities as assigned

  • College graduate with a Bachelor in Science Degree in Engineering, Business or any related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing and planning

  • 95 % fluent English with Excellent Communication Skills at all levels

  • Working knowledge of Purchasing Law and Regulations, Materials Management, Business Law beneficial. Planning Experience (MRP). Purchasing Experience

  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Management, organizational and negotiation skills.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and conflict resolution

  • Project Management.

  • Team work oriented.

  • Medical Device Industry experience preferably
