BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Quality Control Inspector / Quality Assurance Specialist in Irvine, California

Responsible for performing inspection and testing activities of incoming materials, subassemblies, and finished products in accordance with company procedures to determine product acceptance.

  • Perform mechanical, physical, and visual inspection and testing of incoming materials, subassemblies, and finished products in accordance with established inspection plans and specification requirements.

  • Perform first article inspection in accordance with component or assembly drawings.

  • Accurately complete and review inspection and testing results; confirm compliance to established requirements.

  • Read and interpret part drawings.

  • Perform inspections and tests based on established business priorities; coordinate with other departments as needed.

  • Perform NCR activities including initiating, tracking, and closing of nonconformance reports

  • Perform review of Device History Records for compliance to established company procedures.

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

  • Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand.

  • Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend specifications written in English and perform basic math calculations.

  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments (Calipers, Micrometer, etc.).

  • Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulation and ISO 13485.

  • Good computer skills.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector a plus.

  • Ability to get along with people and be able to work in a team environment.

  • Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a medical device and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
