Job Description SummaryReporting to the Director of Continuous Improvement (CI) for the Device Cluster, the Sr. Quality Engineer, CI provides support for Continuous Improvement programs through the use of Six Sigma, Lean, Validation and project management best practices. The role supports the strategy and executes tactics required to achieve Company, Cluster, business/Unit/plant & functional objectives.

Job Description

  • Consistent application of technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques and quality sciences / tools.

  • Proven problem solving skills.

  • Follows company procedures and prepares/revises policies/procedures

  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory, Corporate and/or Unit requirements.

  • Communicates across functions / departments for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Completion of milestones associated with specific projects.

  • Prepares reports, including quantitative / qualitative analysis, summaries and protocols.

  • Prepare and make presentations

  • Focuses on improving processes that support the Business and Quality Objectives.

  • Works cross-functionally supporting CI projects, which improve functional work processes.

  • Maintains tracking mechanisms (metrics) that record measurable results of CI in terms of process efficiency, customer satisfaction, financial and non-financial benefits, and transfers those mechanisms to the functions. Supports development of and maintains a dashboard to track CI program/project progress and supports development of other communication mechanisms.

  • Collaborates with other CI associates and CI network(s)

  • Supports local and/or global strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory, Corporate and/or Unit requirements.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Process thinking

  • Strong communication / presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of project planning and execution.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including communications and facilitation.

  • Ability to work with deadlines

  • Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Minitab)

  • Licenses or Certifications:

  • Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred

  • Lean Leader preferred

  • Education: Requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and relevant experience.

  • Proven problem solving ability, effective application of computer based skills
