The Sr. Manager, Internal Communication & Change Management for PAS will be responsible for developing and delivering a communications and change management strategy throughout the Pre Analytical Systems (PAS) business with an emphasis on connecting employees to our business priorities and driving engagement using a range of communication and change management tools.

We are looking for an experienced communications professional who understands the power of communication and change management in enabling individuals, teams and companies to perform at their very best. This individual will be accountable for communication and change management activities throughout the worldwide business unit and will involve collaborating across the leadership team to define key objectives, priorities and messaging, then identifying the best approach to managing change and communicating across PAS as effectively as possible, ensuring consistency for all internal stakeholders. This includes ensuring internal stakeholders are well aligned about organizational initiatives and successes, deploying the correct change management interventions, enabling company-wide conversations and allowing employees to connect with each other in positive ways. The Sr. Manager plays a critical role in fostering and supporting a culture that empowers employees with information, access to leadership, and recognition. One particularly interesting aspect of this job is the opportunity to help us forge a culture where two-way internal communication and change management are seen as integral to the success of the organization. This position is also responsible for articulating the PAS vision and accomplishments outward across the entire BD organization.

This position will report directly to the VP Human Resources Pre Analytical Systems and functionally to Director of Corporate Communications, Life Science.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, champion and successfully implement global internal communication and change management strategies that aligns to business goals and engagement objectives by partnering with business leaders.

  • Enhance and accelerate associate engagement by increasing understanding of critical business events, BU strategy, key business challenges, business priorities, status of key objectives/initiatives and external environmental factors and deploying the necessary change management tools that impact the business performance.

  • Act as a consultant and strategic thought partner to President, HR Leader and LT to understand audience needs and proactively shape internal communication and change management to create integrated core messages that will guide all employee / internal communications.

  • Create and execute internal communications and change management plans to connect employees to the purpose, progress, and priorities of the business, as well as external environmental impacts. This includes synthesizing business language and complex information into clear, relevant messages and writing and editing with clarity of purpose, intent and broad perspective for a variety of audiences.

  • Work at both the strategic and tactical levels to develop communication and change management programs, materials and content; Deliver across internal platforms, channels and geographies.

  • Provide counsel to senior leaders to promote frequent, open communications and incorporate associate considerations into planning of all major business unit/departmental initiatives, events and announcements.

  • Oversee the distribution of internal communication, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information to key stakeholders

  • Lead change management

  • Identify and leverage traditional and innovative communication & change management vehicles / materials and tactics that optimize deep and broad organizational reception and two-way engagement. Including global town halls, videos, leadership tools, social media, leadership interview, podcasts, blogs, speeches, associate forums, web and any other mediums.

  • Create an engaging communications platform where employees can seek-out and access information that will connect employees to one another and to PAS.

  • Understand and deploy change management where needed as we build culture of a high performing team

  • Create & implement internal communications programs that support change management and transformation initiatives, including strategic planning, and promotes two-way dialogue.

  • Periodically assess and report effectiveness of communication to employees and adjust strategy that improves effectiveness.

  • Empower leaders and managers to be effective communicators to employees by providing appropriate tools and training.

  • Provide ongoing education to internal stakeholders to raise awareness of the value of communications and alignment to business objectives.

  • Consistently looking for ways to enhance existing processes for greater efficiency and existing communication vehicles for greater effectiveness and impact.

  • Owning communications operations - managing communication distribution, mailboxes, calendars, budgets

  • Represent PAS with Life Science segment and overall BD communication teams to ensure communications strategy remains in alignment and is appropriately distrusted based on other team initiatives.

  • Partner with counterparts across BD to implement employee engagement strategies across the organization as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, business or related field.

  • Minimum 6 years’ professional experience required.

  • Minimum 4 years’ professional experience in communication in a corporate.

  • Advanced level of writing and editing capabilities

  • A minimum of 2-5 years’ demonstrated experience in social media, web and other communication technologies/tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s in Communication or MBA preferred.

  • Experience working in a cross functional environment preferred.

  • Previous experience working in the Healthcare industry a plus.

  • Understands and has experience with Matrix Reporting a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience with Change Management preferred.

  • Project Manager: You’re able to juggle multiple projects with tight timelines. You can also move seamlessly between strategic thinking and tactical execution.

  • Business Acumen: You understand the business environment in general and medical devices and/or healthcare preferably. You’re a quick study and are able to get up to speed on new issues right away.

  • Team Player: You work well with people in a variety of disciplines, and can partner with other colleagues to meet objectives.

  • Terrific Listener: You are open to different experiences and perspectives, and know how to listen to key stakeholders to develop a full understanding of issues.

  • Effective Counselor: You know how to give advice and make recommendations to key stakeholders, including Senior Management.

  • Agile and Result Driven: You'll need to be fast and agile to keep up and be able to assimilate information quickly to turn it into simple, effective change management and/or communications. You understand the job of change management and communications is not to simply distribute a message, but to create action that is part of a broader strategy.
