Summary:

The position is accountable for development and implementation of marketing activities in support of existing and new product sales for BD Medical, Pharmaceutical Systems products. Responsibilities will include setting strategic and tactical directions, market/opportunity analysis, market research direction, promotional activity direction, account support, and sales team support. Accountable for growth objectives for assigned products and managing spending within defined budget limits.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements annual marketing plan with all the necessary action programs to achieve annual plan objectives. This includes estimating market potentials, identifying market segments with promising growth opportunities, and providing direction for product development. Influence North America and EMEA, PS business strategy and determine extent of resources the business should allocate to their assigned product area.

  • Observes and seeks out trends in medical, regulatory, technical, and competitive activities which have an impact on existing lines and provide opportunities for new products.

  • Responsible for directing market research activity in product area and providing guidance to the Market Research function in support of existing and new products.

  • In coordination with WW Marketing and R & D, provides strategic direction, analytical support and information with regard to customer needs to guide development activities both new product and sustaining engineering. This includes providing market assessments, preparing financial projections and providing direction for other phases of development actions.

  • Participates in cross-functional and project teams for responsible products.

  • Provides guidance on product and service offerings required to maximize value capture for responsible product area and manages life cycle management of related products

  • In support of the field sales team, develops appropriate communication and support programs to achieve plan objectives.

  • Provides other functional departments information on a timely basis in support of ongoing business activities such as forecasting, product initiation requests, regulatory issues and logistics. Supports the logistics group in Sales & Operations Planning process.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare or related field. MBA preferred.

  • 3-5 years experience in medical devices, pharmaceutical, or related industries.

  • A successful candidate may have sales or marketing experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or as a supplier to the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience in identifying Market Opportunities, Market Segmentation, Targeted Marketing, Competitive Analysis, Pricing Strategy and Go to Market tactics.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, cross-functional participation and superior verbal and written communication skills required.
