Job Description

This position will be responsible for serving as an escalation point for incidents detected in the DLP platform and the Information Security Manager. Analysis of information will require engaging with management and other areas within information security to help determine the severity of the incident and what the next steps will be. This role will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining Information Security systems, policies and procedures to detect and/or prevent the disclosure of sensitive data. The Information Security Analyst will also be responsible for escalations from the Continuous Security Monitoring (CSM) teams and following through to incident closure and reporting.

Degree of Accountability:

  • Engage with the business and with IT security staff to identify sensitive data and monitor for unauthorized disclosures

  • Work directly with BD’s Managed Security Provider to provide guidance and accountability

  • Design and configure Data Loss Prevention technologies

  • Refining DLP rulesets in existing tools and drive the program with risk reporting to the business

  • Interpret and summarize raw technical data for presentation to non-technical business leaders

  • Work with business leaders when unauthorized transfer of BD data is detected and deemed to be business critical

Financial Impact:

  • Ensures timely response to data loss prevention alerts to minimize exposure.

Quality Impact:

  • Demonstrates adherence to BD's Quality Standards by driving continuous improvement within assigned responsibilities while adhering to applicable regulatory requirements.

Cost Impact:

  • Through the data loss prevention program partner (directly or indirectly) with business to prevent loss of IP, associated sales, market share, brand and reputational loss.

  • Through continuous improvement drive operational effectiveness and automation in processes within the data loss prevention process

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have some incident management experience, security operations, or enterprise level data loss prevention tool experience

  • Must have knowledge of Windows workstations and servers.

  • Must have experience with desktop administration

  • Must have experience in networking, networking protocols and configuration

  • Must have experience working with senior level management

  • Experience with insider threat processes and technologies

  • Experience with forensics and/or information security investigations

  • Experience with project management teams

  • Experience managing vendors especially with Managed Security Service Providers and/or Managed Service Providers.

  • GIAC, CISSP preferred, but not required. Certifications will be required during tenure in this role

Educational Qualifications & Previous Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field with equivalent working experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in Information Security or Information Technology

  • Knowledge of attack methods, network/endpoint forensic analysis, and malware analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to function in a collaborative environment, seeking continuous consultation with other analysts or experts.

  • Working knowledge of networks, Windows administration, and system configuration.

  • Ability to communicate complex information, security concepts, or ideas to leadership.
