Job Description SummaryThe Associated Director, Supplier Continuous Improvement develops overall Supplier CI process for the company as well as lead a group of Supplier Development Manager who drive continuous improvement activities at key suppliers to take cost out of the product. The Associated Director, Supplier Continuous Improvement must work closely with Quality, Operations, (businesses) and Sourcing to successfully identify, priorities, and implement these projects with their team of Supplier Development Managers
The Associate Director, Supplier Continuous Improvement reports to the VP, WW Procurement External Supply Network and plays a key role in influencing significant business decisions around continuous improvement and supply continuity strategy with suppliers for the company. This individual manages direct reports and influences a global network of touch points across the breadth of BD to drive strategy implementation of the supplier development and CI. Influence extends to peers, team members, sites, functions, WW Operations leaders, regional leaders, functional leaders, general management and key stakeholders.
40% - Provides functional leadership and support to team members and champion CI. Support and guidance for the team include project management, stakeholder engagement and communication as well as development and retention
40% - Develop global supplier continuous improvement processes and supplier CI strategies that develop long-term strategic partnership to pursue mutually beneficial opportunities for cost reductions / continuous improvement programs and business risk and contingency planning.
20% - Drives the execution of applicable tactics under continuous improvement strategies impacting assigned suppliers for associated businesses and regions. Has direct responsibilities for coordinating improvement activities inclusive of Kaizen events, process improvement and quality system improvements.
A bachelor’s degree along with substantial applied managerial experience in multiple disciplines is required. (An MBA is preferred. Preferred fields include Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Economics.)
A minimum of five to eight years of experience in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management in a manufacturing setting.
At least three years of experience managing globally distributed teams.
Full working knowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvement tools with demonstrated success
Ability to manage diverse projects, including tracking plans to commitments and driving actions to a fully documented closure
Effectively communicate ideas, challenges, and recommendations
Ability to assess current practices and identify improvement opportunities
Strong influencing, collaboration and relationship-building skills both internally at BD and externally with suppliers
Manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines.
Manufacturing and supply chain operations experience
Supplier value management and continuous improvement
CPSM / CIPS / APICS certification preferred but not required.
