Job Description Summary
You will join our Preanalytical Systems (PAS) European Marketing team in this newly created position, developing and driving our market-leading Sample Containment portfolio which includes a broad range of tubes for blood & urine collection as well as associated accessories, with a number of new products in the pipeline. You will also have a specific focus on developing the Cell & Biomarker Preservation portfolio.
Product and marketing managers, whether at a country or regional level, are instrumental in driving marketing excellence to ensure marketing becomes a core competency and source of competitive advantage for BD. These positions are critical to making fact-based and choiceful strategic business decisions, driving rigorous and disciplined processes and marketing strategies to unlock opportunities in a consistent manner to drive sustainable profitable growth.
You will leverage your expertise in market development and marketing strategy in a complex, matrix business environment, where you will collaborate both with local European partners as well as global teams in the US.
As Marketing Manager, your key responsibility will be to drive development and implementation of regional marketing plans aligned with the global strategy for the key product lines, as our business continues to focus on a range of sample containment devices to meet customer needs. Reporting to our European Marketing Director and responsible for 2 product managers, you’ll play a central role in driving the marketing strategy, especially regarding pricing and promotion strategies as well as product development in Europe.
Owning the achievement of unit, average selling price, revenue and gross profit budgets and forecasts for these product lines, you’ll work closely with business partners like Medical Affairs, Regulatory and HEOR on key projects including market shaping activities. In addition to working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the product, market, competition and customer, other key features of the role include:
Developing market specific strategies and tactics to ensure that BD PAS is well positioned for success e.g. providing clear direction on the relevant value proposition and product positioning as well as facilitating global platform engagement with European countries, including voice of the customer and post market surveillance activities
Working closely with our Salesforce Effectiveness Manager to ensure strong implementation of marketing programs to the PAS sales teams
Leading product launches for the European market and being a core member of global launch teams as well as managing all aspects of the product life-cycle, including product recalls and field corrective actions
Contributing to the demand planning process and resulting forecast inputs to the operational supply planning process for these product lines. Working with governance functions to ensure these products lines comply with the quality and regulatory requirements for the markets in which they are sold
Conducting regular customer visits to ensure continued awareness of the key market requirements/customer unmet needs (approx. 40% travelling)
Contributing to projects involving all of BD’s business units
Working with our Marketing and Communications (MarCom) COE based in France on the development and production of MarCom planning and campaigns
Developing the Cell and Biomarker Preservation product line, including the recently launched ccfDNA tube. Actively identify and drive business development opportunities
The CBP portfolio consists of:
PreAnalytiX products (including PAXgene Blood RNA & DNA tubes) for molecular diagnostics
Plasma Preparation Tube (PPT) for molecular and biochemistry applications
Cell Preparation Tubes (CPT) for cell culture
P100 Plasma Protein Preservation tube for protein analysis
P800 system tubes for metabolic disease analysis
Educated in Marketing or a related field, you already have a proven track record in a European Marketing/Product Management role within the healthcare, medical or lab environment, underpinned by significant experience in pricing & product development, including project and process responsibility. You demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the molecular diagnostics field, the Clinical Research Market (CRM), as well as a strong interest for chemistry lab environment, leveraging this to support Country sales force and advance sales opportunities.
In addition to your broad grasp of the major European healthcare systems (including procurement and clinical decision in public and private sectors), you will also have some experience of multi-country product launches & conversion strategies. You are able to work autonomously and independently, generating, prioritising and completing projects. A proven achiever - especially in a multi-discipline environment - you’ll ideally be familiar with international matrix business environments, along with demonstrated success in translating business needs into product and product portfolio strategies. A strong team player, strong on business acumen and negotiation, you’ll also bring:

A strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs
Experience in determining the value-proposition and value offer for complex solutions and specific customer segments
Fluent English. Additional languages are an advantage
