To strengthen our Fin Ops COE in Erembodegem, we are currently looking for an:

Intercompany Accountant

1. Purpose of the role

Under the supervision of the Intercompany Team Leader, operate within the Intercompany team, part of the Center of Excellence.

Execute accounting and financial activities in the Intercompany area in order to maximize the effectiveness of services provided to Europe and EMA Countries.

Discuss process improvement recommendations with the Intercompany Team Leader, execute and follow-up on actions to improve internal controls and ensure adherence to policies & procedures.

2. Main responsibilities / Result areas

2.1. Day to day operational management

  • Execution of the financial services assigned to the Intercompany Team, in order to guarantee quality, efficiency, effectiveness and on time completion of the various tasks and process steps

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and intercompany accounts.

  • Analyze any discrepancies related to Intercompany transactions.

  • Analyze aging for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables.

  • Prepare GRIR analysis and resolve the outstanding items.

  • Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc reports as necessary.

  • Revaluation of Foreign ICO balances

  • Posting & Prepare of Intercompany invoices

  • Prepare & Finalize intercompany payments (Netting)

2.2. Internal Controls / Quality assurance

Ensure internal & SOX controls are followed in order to guarantee completeness, correctness and security of key financial data and accounting transactions. Follow-up on action plans resulting from audits and/or SOX test results.

2.3. Process improvement

Discuss with the Intercompany Team Leader possible improvement, standardization opportunities and execute the agreed upon process changes within their own area, in order to support a continuous increase in the efficiency of Intercompany processes

2.4. SLA follow-up

Ensure SLA’s commitments are followed in order to support both COE and local entities in achieving the objectives of the SLA’s.

Contribute directly to the following metrics for Intercompany;

Discuss with the Intercompany Team Leader the need for training and development.

Complete expected C2C courses.

2.6. Internal Controls / Quality assurance

Ensure internal & SOX controls are followed in order to guarantee completeness, correctness and security of key financial data and accounting transactions. Follow-up on action plans resulting from audits and/or SOX test results.

2.7. Process improvement

Discuss with the Intercompany Team Leader possible improvement, standardization opportunities and execute the agreed upon process changes within their own area, in order to support a continuous increase in the efficiency of Intercompany processes

3. Knowledge and selection requirements

  • Degree Standard Education (Accounting or Equivalent)

  • Fluency in English; each additional European language is a plus

  • Knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP / IFRS requirements is a plus

  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus

  • Excel skills
