Job Description Summary
Within the technical services organization, we’re looking for a hands-on person who can further improve, optimize and lead operational activities related to Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.
(S)he has responsibility for leading the strategic planning activity for CI as well as developing and executing the implementation plan for that strategy.
(S)he is responsible for the co-ordination of cost reduction initiatives and track progress against published project milestones, spend forecasts and associated cost savings.
As appropriate you will escalate any project issues, scope change or other concerns to the management team, effectively solve problems and proactively manage ambiguous situations. You will complete cost-benefit analysis and gain support for projects taking input from subject matter experts and stakeholders. Success is measured in terms of lead time reduction, cost savings and effective change management through applied skills and lean management.
As Continuous Improvement Leader your responsibilities include:
Support the EMEA Technical Support Managers regarding the operational functioning within their region to guide them to optimal performances enabling the realization of the objectives and targets set down in the service strategy.
Build a strong CI culture through the education of other associates in CI tools and leverage this capability to execute plans. This will include facilitating the training and putting in place the operational measures.
Act as a role model, mentor and coach to others, as related to CI initiatives.
Drive and sustain CI activities and programs such as Kaizen events, Problem Solving, Process Optimization, Waste Reduction, Value Stream Mapping.
Identify customer needs (internal and external), provide associated solutions and support the definition of the priorities.
Work in collaboration with stakeholders in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality to identify/deliver CI savings projects to achieve the annual budget targets.
The successful candidate will have:
A strong background in Continuous Improvement with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a lean 6 Sigma or Continuous Improvement/Change Management role in an operations environment.
A degree in engineering or a science discipline with a formal lean or six sigma certification.
Working knowledge of engineering and quality concepts associated with a high volume, technically complex, regulated environment.
People and project management experience in a technical service operation, e.g. field or depot service, is a strong plus.
Excellent ccommunication skills – fluent in English – Someone who can interact with colleagues at all levels and bring cross team working to its fullest potential.
Excellent computer and mathematical skills, preferably gained from working with SFDC / ServiceMax as a service management solution and QlikSense as a BI tool. You work proficiently with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, Word), while SAP knowledge is an additional bonus.
