We have recently been on an acquisition program and purchased a number of key players in the medical device market. We currently have 4 sites in Ireland which are in the middle of expansion and improvement works. With all these exciting new developments taking place we now have a vacancy for the Territory Sales Manager based in the Munster Region to join our MPS Sales team. The product portfolio includes peripheral vascular access devices, prefilled syringes, and hypodermic products (needles, syringes safety needles).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quarterly and annual territory targets in line with national budget expectations for the financial year.

  • Focus on sustainable sales growth for territory and region by understanding and working within revenue expectations guidelines.

  • Understand customer goals & drivers to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships, positioning BD as the partner of choice.

  • Proactively develop and implement territory plans for sustainable, long term sales success. Review and alter this plan in line with BD MPS strategy & direction. Follow account management plan by area growth, to focus on top 5 accounts.

  • Effectively manage account priorities to position, sell & implement BD Added Value Services, where this offering will maximise sales opportunity.

  • Effective delivery of BD Value Add Programmes (training & education).

  • Conduct and manage product trials & in-service process as part of account conversion, with support from Clinical Consultants (CC’s) where appropriate.

  • Work effectively with the Sales & Operations Manager, Clinical, & Marketing team to maximise business potential.

  • Achieves standards, expectations and performance as agreed with manager.

  • Develop efficient and effective call planning to maximize use of time.

  • Effectively use agreed business reporting tools and comply with expected standards (PIR process, Opportunity Management, Account selection tools, CRM compliance, Diary Management, BD Sales methodology etc).

  • To represent BD in a professional manner on all occasions. To take ownership of local customer complaints and queries, ensuring they are handled in a timely and professional manner.

  • Where appropriate forward customer enquiries to other BD Divisions.

  • To attend meetings, conferences, and exhibitions to promote both BD company image and selected range of products.

  • To build business relationships with relevant key opinion leader

The Ideal candidate will have a certificate/degree in a relevant discipline and will ideally have completed selling skills training course and has an ability to practically demonstrate products and their application. You must have a proven track record in skills.The key areas of focus within the hospital environment will be Theatres, ITU, Wards, A& E and Procurement. The Ideal candidate will have an Understanding of sales data – skills to interpret sales trends, handle collection, collation and use of data to assist in account and territory analysis/planning. You will be able to quickly assimilate complex information and present ideas in a simple effective way. You will have full competency in PC Skills – use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and specified BD software & excellent communication skills. The ideal person will be able to identify business opportunities in relation to growth and retention strategies. You will have the ability to work autonomously, and be capable of independently generating, prioritising and handling own work.

You will be a positive team player who builds and develops strong supportive relationships with colleagues, commercial partners, etc. You will have demonstrable organisation & negotiation skills – use of resource in order to maximise return on sales time and materials. You will exhibit good decision making skills and sound judgement .The ideal candidate will have a passion for selling and a strong desire to succeed and be a hard & smart worker. You will be self-motivated with a drive to achieve territory targets. You are someone who is committed to professional self-development and is positively adopts a continuous learning approach and applies learning’s proactively.
