Job Description Summary

Process Optimisation (PO) is a continuous improvement methodology employed to significantly increase the output of a production line or process through identification and realization of all output improvement opportunities.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Utilise the Process Optimisation methodology to improve current line performance:

  • Identify the full output potential of the line

  • Identify the output bottleneck and understand all losses and opportunities for improvement

  • Conduct cycle time studies to optimise line speed and accumulation to increase output.

  • Use Structured Problem Solving to permanently eliminate speed, downtime and scrap losses

  • To assist in the validation of line changes or improvements from including acceptance trials, executing EWOs, debugging etc.

  • To install, modify and maintain the full range of production equipment; this includes:

  • Fine tuning production equipment to increase output.

  • Reducing downtime and reducing waste.

  • Maintaining production lines at optimal performance.

  • To continuously improve the production operations; this includes:

  • Identifying areas for improvement within the manufacturing process.

  • Working with external engineering firms to design equipment.

  • Working closely with engineers and cross functional teams in monitoring and improving equipment performance using proven troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.

  • To assist with the creation and updating of documentation and training of other Engineering Technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required.

  • To maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g. breakdowns, maintenance, etc.).

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the Mechanical and Electronic Systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment and hold a Third Level Qualification in one of those disciplines or the National Craft Certificate together with additional specialised training and experience.

Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment is essential for this role. You must have the ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields.
