Our facility in Dun Laoghaire has recently completed a large expansion plan and now produces the majority of pen needles for the diabetes market globally. We are now ramping up to commence producing the newest BD product to support the diabetes market here onsite. With all these exciting developments taking place we are recruiting an Engineering Technician - Packaging (Days - Monday to Friday)

The Engineering Technician - Packaging is responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and modification of all plant and production equipment in the packaging area, as well as the fabrication of new and replacement equipment. The Engineering Technician - Packaging will also be involved in trouble shooting and continuous improvement initiatives in the packaging area.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To install, modify and maintain the full range of production equipment in the packaging area;

  • To continuously improve the production operations. This includes: Specifically, fine tuning production equipment to increase output. Reducing downtime and reducing waste, to maintain production lines at optimal performance;

  • To assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, debugging etc;

  • To assist with the training of other Engineering Technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required;

  • To maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g., breakdowns, maintenance etc.).

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the Mechanical and Electronic Systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment. A Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in packaging, knowledge of Schubert equipment and Robotic. You will have relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will have the ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. You must have relevant PC skills.
