BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Business Process Support in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Business Process Leader, the Business Process Support Analyst is responsible for identifying and improving business process practices and for supporting key logistics roles in the supply chain at BD Dun Laoghaire.

The role encompasses business practices from incoming materials to outgoing products, as well as providing configuration, functional and operational support for business systems at Dun Laoghaire.

Ideally the BP Analyst is the sort of person that naturally converts new learnings into best practices for BD colleagues


  • Support activities to improve process efficiency and assist in maximizing the use and value of SAP - all SAP process areas.

  • With the Business Process team, identify opportunities for process improvements across functions and provide regular support and training to users as required. Notably SAP, Lean Materials and MES Data Collection systems.

  • Provide Functional & Operational support for any business system Projects and Upgrades as they are implemented at BD Dun Laoghaire.

  • Support new Product set-up with emphasis on systems Master data.

  • Assist with regular process mapping activities.

  • Carry out operational activities on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis: - review and close out production orders, regularly report to stakeholders, provide systems input and data to aid ongoing CI projects, assist with WIP cycle counts and the annual inventory stock take, SAP re-certification and other year-end procedures.

  • Act as support and back up to key logistics roles.

  • SharePoint: develop skills to create SharePoint sites and develop workflows as per business requirements.

  • Become a Super-User providing automated solutions to improve efficiency of daily tasks.

  • Adopt and share best practices of the Office365 suite of tools and other new IT platforms as they are introduced.


Minimum Third level qualification coupled with appropriate experience


  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in manufacturing with a background in Medical Devices/Pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Experience in a lean material movements environment.

  • Thorough knowledge of ERP systems (ideally SAP ECC6)

  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability both of working in a cross-functional team environment and of working on own initiative.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must be proactive – willing to identify improvement opportunities in the business.

  • Microsoft Office suite expert level.
