BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Process Engineer - 12mth Contract in Drogheda, Ireland

Job Description Summary

The role of this Process Engineer within the plant is too provide technical support to ensure optimum performance of the department. A rapid response to line downtime situations is critical with a key focus on equipment yield & efficiency while maintaining compliance to all EHS and quality standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering and technical support to the Senior Process Engineer and Maintenance Technicians

  • Continuously monitor the performance of a wide range of assembly and packaging equipment to ensure that production and quality targets are maintained,

  • Ensure appropriate action is taken to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner using a systematic approach to problem solving

  • Ensure that all preventive maintenance activities are completed on time

  • Ensure that process parameters are maintained within the validated process windows

  • Support the validation of new and existing equipment to ISO & FDA standards

  • Participate in initiatives as required including Lean, 6 Sigma and 5S projects

  • Complete all designated continuous improvement programs on schedule through detailed planning and timely execution

  • Cooperate fully with changes in technology and embrace any requirements to acquire additional skills

  • Comply fully with changes in Quality system and EHS procedures

  • Contribute to plants ongoing compliance with ISO13485/FDA standards and with changes in Quality system procedures

  • Liaise with / manage vendors and suppliers as required

  • Support ongoing training and development of the Maintenance Technicians

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a high volume, highly automated assembly and/or packaging operation

  • Experience with the installation and/or qualification of new equipment would be advantageous

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills

  • Good Literacy and numeracy skills

  • Experience of working in cross-functional teams

  • Some travel will be required to support new projects

  • Engineering Degree (preferably Mechanical or Production)
