BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Clinical Manager in Detroit, Michigan

Bard has joined BD, together advancing the world of health. BD Urology & Critical Care, formerly Bard Medical, is looking to fill the position of Bilingual Customer Care Specialist located in Covington, GA.

The Clinical Manager (CM) is responsible for providing regional clinical support to sales representatives. They should work in partnership to meet company sales goals. In addition, the CM bears the responsibility of serving as a clinical resource/product specialist and meeting the needs of all customers both internal, i.e. TMs, DMs, Marketing, Regulatory, Internal Training and Education) and external (i.e. Current and Potential Customers of BD, Professional Organizations, KOLs). This includes the provision of clinical presentations and training that meets/exceeds customer satisfaction and enhances company sales goals.

  • Strategies include acting as a clinical resource in BD accounts to help ensure the “right patient, right product, right result” is achieved through product training and education. This includes prospective assessment of product use in patient care practices with feedback of information which may be used by facilities for implementation of measures to improve patient outcomes.

Clinical Manager possesses the ability and aptitude to perform each duty proficiently. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan work with direction from Regional Manager (RM) and in cooperation with sales team to determine appropriate activities in order to support accomplishment of company sales goals.

  • Provide clinical support to assigned territory with flexibility to provide back-up coverage to clinical resource team as needed.

  • Design a clinical plan, in consultation with the Territory Manager, to determine use of monitoring tools to improve patient care practices based on guidelines, best practice, and right product selection as it relates to patient outcomes.

  • Coordinate product training process in partnership with TM (Territory Manager) based on account needs.

  • Effectively conduct all aspects of Foley Product Training Assessments (FPTA) including: data collection, data compilation, report completion, and formal presentation of the data to hospital representatives.

  • Conduct product training through classroom based training including didactic lecture, simulation skills stations and roaming inservices (Best Practice Programs).

  • Coordinate implementation training for accounts in specified territory with TM. Conduct account set-up and planning based on account needs. Responsible for oversight of scheduling. Manage and conduct effective product training. Plan and communicate all activities with TM. Communicate plan to sales team and contracted employees in advance and provide summary report upon completion.

  • Manage per diem staff of Clinical Consultants (CC) of approximately 20-30 total nurses within assigned territory. Responsible for recruitment, interviewing, hiring, coordinating contracting process completion, overall expense budget, training and monitoring performance. Assist in scheduling. Engage TMs to assist with recruitment/interviewing/training.

  • Conduct orientation and training programs for Clinical Consultants in partnership with TM’s. Complete initial classroom and on-the-job training for BD product mix and clinical processes including evaluation, implementation, and targeted follow-up product training. Establish job expectations, account goals and communication/reporting plan. Supervise and monitor performance and expenses ongoing. Provide training updates as needed.

  • Provide targeted account maintenance for accounts. Responsibilities include rounding through clinical units to determine and troubleshoot usage needs, assisting accounts with distribution process and product location and leading all efforts related to proper utilization. Communicate progress and follow-up needs to sales team.

  • Manage scheduling of programs and services proactively utilizing account strategy and forecasting information in partnership with TM’s and Clinical Operation Specialist to arrange travel as far in advance as possible to help control expense budget.

  • Communicate regularly with sales team and RM regarding account activity and progress.

  • Maintain knowledge and expertise as product specialist for entire Bard Medical product line. Focus on urological drainage and stool management

  • Complete weekly activity reports and other reports as requested and submit to RM per protocol.

  • Keep RM notified of problems, needs and pertinent issues as they arise.

  • Participate in designated trade shows, conventions or other programs as requested and approved by RM.

  • Responsibility for scheduling own time (in coordination with TM based on opportunities within the territory), and using time efficiently.

  • Responsibility for individual productivity within the norms of the CM Team and collectively with the IP Team as partners in the Clinical Resource Advantage mission.

  • Responsibility for contributing to the collective productivity of CM team to meet performance objectives, overall Clinical Resource Team objectives and to work in collaboration with company objectives.

  • Responsibility for meeting the needs of all customers both internal, i.e. TMs, DM’s, Marketing, Regulatory, Internal Training and Education) and external (i.e. Current and Potential Customers of BD, Professional Organizations, KOLs).

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to function independently with minimal guidance or supervision. Excellent listening and communication skills. Ability to work in sales environment with sales team. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Ability to collect, analyze and present clinical data. Must be proficient with computer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

  • Multi-task oriented. Able to manage multiple customer accounts with strong organizational skills. Able to assess problems and overcome objections.

  • Professional attitude and appropriate business and clinical judgment in all aspects of this position.

  • Ability to travel up to 85%.

Prefer experience using and teaching the use of Bard products.

  • College graduate or equivalent. Require license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Three (3+) years of patient care experience. Hospital ICU/CCU, staff development, safety and/or charge nurse/management experience a plus.

  • Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, talk and hear. May occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs. Work schedule may vary with multiple shifts included.   • In-town / out-of-town travel and overnight stays approximately 85%

  • Work Schedule will vary and covering multiple shifts may be necessary at times.

  • Travel includes driving, flying and overnights in hotels.
