Job Description Summary

The Position: The Ethics & Compliance, Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing BD’s Andean and South Cone Ethics & Compliance operations. The position will report to the Assoc. Director, Ethics & Compliance – Latin America, who manages the Ethics & Compliance function for the Latin America region. This individual manages the day-to-day tasks related to driving compliance risk management within the South Cone and Andean markets, including supporting development and maintenance of compliance tools and resources (including but not limited to policies, procedures, and training).

Roles & Responsibilities : The responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Act as a leader in Ethics & Compliance and provide compliance risk management oversight and guidance to colleagues in the South Cone and Andean markets.

  • Oversee a comprehensive compliance strategy and operational approach to establish a culture of accountability and compliance in the South Cone and Andean markets.

  • Serve as compliance resource support to South Cone and Andean market business leaders, sales distributor leaders, and other relevant management personnel on compliance and third party compliance risk matters.

  • Provide compliance-related insights and metrics for communication to relevant Regional Compliance Committees and other applicable committees.

  • Provide regular updates on compliance risk management to the Assoc. Director, Ethics & Compliance – Latin America and appropriate cross functional stakeholder groups within the South Cone and Andean markets (e.g., legal, internal audit, finance, regulatory, HR, investigations functional stakeholders).

  • Proactively understand the evolution of the compliance requirements and enforcement landscape in the South Cone and Andean markets to pre-emptively address and mitigate compliance risks.

  • Support the Assoc. Director, Ethics & Compliance – Latin America (and other appropriate Ethics & Compliance stakeholders as necessary) in executing Latin America regional compliance risk assessments.

  • Support the Assoc. Director, Ethics & Compliance – Latin America (and other appropriate Ethics & Compliance stakeholders as necessary) in the development and implementation of the strategic direction for compliance activities within the Andean markets based on the risk assessment results.

  • Coordinate with the appropriate market-level stakeholders to leverage risks identified in risk assessments to diagnose potential gaps in existing compliance approach; update tools and resources accordingly.

  • Coordinate with the Assoc. Director, Ethics & Compliance – Latin America (and other relevant stakeholders as necessary) to develop, implement and maintain the following:

  • Ethics and Compliance trainings in the South Cone and Andean markets that focus on healthcare compliance, third party compliance risks, relevant laws, and company policies and procedures.

  • Effective compliance communication program within the South Cone and Andean markets

  • Market-level compliance policies and procedures for the South Cone and Andean markets

  • Support Ethics Investigations personnel and other relevant stakeholders in ensuring effective management and resolution of investigations by providing compliance subject matter expertise in support of investigations in the South Cone and Andean markets.

  • Provide subject matter input and support the relevant Internal Audit and Compliance Monitoring and Process stakeholders in the development and implementation of the South Cone and Andean markets’ auditing and monitoring plans and reviewing outputs of activities to drive continuous risk identification and remediation.
