Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

##

Responsible to the Manufacturing Facilitator for the operation of the Bactec Sensor production line and of Bactec Media production line in the manufacture, autoclaving and packaging of products. Schedules and directs production and ensures that quality levels are maintained.

##

RESPONSIBILITIES:

##

Within the limits of company policy, recommends, advises, and assists the Manufacturing Facilitator in all matters relating to the operation of the Bactec Sensor and Bactec Media Manufacturing Department.

##

Plans and organizes Bactec Sensor and Bactec Media operations, including production improvements, inventory control, production scheduling, staffing, employee relations, safety, costs, quality control and validation activities.

##

Maintains high product quality to ensure zero product recall attributable to the Manufacturing department.

##

Ensures that manufacturing operations and procedures are followed properly and documented and comply with QSR/GMP and ISO regulations.

##

Provides reports pertaining to production, inventories, scheduling, efficiencies, safety, security, and personnel.

##

Provides adequate control over manpower planning and development to meet management’s requirements for the attainment of plant goals.

##

If required, reviews SAP production orders as to assure GI, GR and confirmations are completed.

##

Reviews Batch Records and other documentation for Bactec Sensor and Bactec Media department.

##

Schedules or conducts and documents, Procedures, QSR/GMP, ISO and Safety trainings for personnel.

##

Generates supplies requisitions or notifies the need for supplies.

##

Generates maintenance work orders or notifies the need for work orders.

##

Gives support to the company payroll system.

##

Responsible for protection and maintenance of equipment and facilities under his(her) control in accordance with company standards; ensures proper employee training and equipment usage.

##

In conjunction with the Human Resources Leader and Manufacturing Facilitator, ensures that Division and Corporate policies and procedures are consistently interpreted and implemented towards all employees and ensures that employees are aware of the corporate filing with regards to the EEO/Affirmative Action Program.

Contributes to the superior quality of the company and its product through participation and cooperation with quality related projects and programs. Brings to the attention of management, areas needing quality improvement and works toward the goal of resolving any quality problem issue.

##

Makes annual evaluations for hourly associates.

##

May supervise other manufacturing areas as needed.

##

Perform other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

##

Education:

##

Bachelor degree, preferable in Science, Engineering or Business Administration.

##

Experience & Skills:

##

Minimum of three years of experience as shift/group leader or as a supervisor.

##

Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing preferable in regulated industries.

##

Knowledge of FDA Regulations (QSR/GMP, GLP, etc.), OSHA and employee relations.

##

Knowledge of manufacturing processes preferably in packaging processes, formulation and high-speed lines.

##

Knowledge of process validation process desired.

##

Fully bilingual, Spanish-English.

##

Computer Literate (MS Office, Windows, and related programs)
