Job Description SummaryUnder the direction of production leadership, the General Production Operator assumes the regular duties of, or temporary replacement duties for, all direct and indirect positions within (700, 800, 900) Production Departments. Additionally performs jobs where planned production volume exists and there are no production operators assigned to that specific operation. Will maintain required budgeted throughput rates.
1.1 Under the direction of production leadership, the General Production Operator assumes the regular duties of, or temporary replacement duties for, all direct and indirect positions within (700, 800, 900) Production Departments. Additionally performs jobs where planned production volume exists and there are no production operators assigned to that specific operation. Will maintain required budgeted throughput rates.
1.2 General Production Operators will enter the position as a pay grade four (4) until such time as the associate is placed into a permanent position which may or may not be an increase in pay grade.
1.3 The jobs required for each department General Production Operators is shown in the table below.
Department 700/800 Jobs Department 900 Jobs
• Batch Final Pack/Automated BFP
• Other indirect jobs such as:
o Band inspect
o American Red Cross boxing
• Two-Tube in a Pouch Assembly
• Sekisui Tube and Caps
1.4 General Production Operators may be placed into other production positions per business needs, provided the operators are given the necessary training curricula and associates have attained the necessary physical capacity rating required for the position. Further, depending on business needs, General Production Operators may be asked to change shifts at a later time from the original shift they were assigned. If an associate is transferred to another position with a higher pay rate, the General Production Operator will receive the pay grade for the position they are assuming.
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:Maintains a clean/safe work area and reports any safety hazards to supervision.Must be capable of performing the essential functions of all relevant production-related job positions within the 700, 800, and 900 areas while serving as a temporary replacement.Knows and observes all quality and GMP standards at each operation within the assigned department.Possesses working knowledge of the MRP system as it applies to positions within the assigned department.Uses current reporting methods for production and waste at all operations.Performs quality self-inspections, where appropriate, according to latest methods using Vacutainer Specifications for all relevant operations.Works efficiently and cooperates with supervision and other employees.
Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:Complies with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles.Performs other job related duties as assigned.Observes all safety, environmental and quality system standards.All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
